Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty)An excess of flaccid abdominal skin and fat may take a form of an overhanging fold, often accompanied by slack abdominal muscles and stretch marks. This may develop after a childbirth, after a substantial weight loss or just "with age". This condition may be easily improved by a procedure called tummy tuck (abdominoplasty). The incisions are drawn just above the pubic hair line and along the groin folds, so that the future scars may be hidden under e.g. a bathing suit. All the excess skin and fat are removed, resulting in a flat, smooth belly, with improved appearance of stretch marks. As the remaining skin is sutured under tension, full body straightening should be avoided during the first days after the operation. The procedure is performed under general anaesthesia. A 1-2 days stay in the Clinic, and wearing a special corset is strongly recommended.
